MENLO PARK – The US technology giant Google is officially rolling its visual search feature ‘Lens’ to Apple iOS devices.
The Lens is an on-demand object recognition tool, accessible through the Google Photos application.
With Lens, users will be able to scan things through the app to receive information, like a dog’s breed or a flower type.

Users can also create a contact from a business card as the app uses text recognition to import the data from the image, saving users from manually typing out the information on the card.
Inside Lens the camera will identify popular landmarks, using, Google search to provide data like a description and even the hours of operation. Lens will also pull up the reviews on the location, and if that’s not enough, Google Search results on the landmark.
To access the feature on the iOS device, launch the Google Photos app, select a photo, then tap on the Google Lens icon. Depending on what the photo is, you can then check the details Google provides, or take an action.
The feature is rolling out to version 3.15 of the iOS application.

Previously, Google Lens is only available for Pixel smartphones, Google started rolling out the feature to all Android phones with Google Photos installed earlier this month.
