At least 2 killed, 7 injured in Attock suicide blast

ISLAMABAD – At least two employees were martyred while seven others sustained injuries as two motorcyclists targeted bus, carrying civilian employees, with explosive material near Dhok Gama area of Attock on Basal road, private news channels reported on Thursday.

The bus was completely destroyed by the powerful blast.

As per initial details, security forces rushed to the blast scene and cordoned off the area while a search operation was underway. Rescue teams shifted injured to the nearby hospitals for medical assistance.

District Emergency Officer (DEO) Dr Ashfaq said an as yet unidentified attacker had opened fire at the bus as it slowed down at a speed breaker.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the coward act of terrorism in Attock whereas he paid tribute to all those who were martyred and injured in the attack.

Sharif directed authorities to provide state-of-the-art medical facilities to those who sustained injuries and vowed to bring terrorists—involved in the appalling attack—to justice.
