Pakistani man declared dead runs for provincial assembly seat

THATTA – Pakistanis are so much excited about upcoming general elections and it seems nothing will stop them from contesting the elections, not even death.

A person who was declared dead officially eight years ago has submitted his nomination papers from Thatta’s PS-78.

Zakir Hussain is contesting the election for Sindh assembly seat.

According to his death certificate, which was issued on December 10, 2010, the candidate died on September 22, 2010.

Hussain apparently faked his own death to avoid being charged with fraud, however, the electoral race has infused new energy in the politician to try his luck in the cut-throat contest.
