ISLAMABAD – The Civil Aviation Authority has barred financially strapped Shaheen Airlines from operating a major international flight, Islamabad-Dubai-Islamabad.
The aviation monitor has directed the private airline to suspend its flight NL221/224 from July 13 to the tourist destianation.
According to a letter served on Shaheen Air Monday, CAA directed the airline to intimate the affected passengers accordingly to avoid any inconvenience.
SAI is a defaulter of more than Rs1.25 billion of CAA with regard to various charges, according to the authority.
The CAA asked the passengers interested to fly to Dubai in referred flight from July 13, onwards to make any alternative arrangement.

Previously, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had asked the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to suspend Shaheen Air’s local flight operations after it failed to pay Federal Excise Duty (FED).
The Airline has failed to pay its outstanding dues, amounting to a massive Rs. 521 million, and is getting barred from continuing its operations by the government.
