ISLAMABAD – The chief suspect in a land grabbing case, Malik Mansha Khokhar alias Mansha Bomb was arrested from the Supreme Court premises on Monday.
Khokhar, who is wanted by the law enforcement agencies in over 70 cases of land encroachment, murder and attempted murder, is the leader of a land mafia operating in Johar Town, Lahore.
Earlier today, he surrendered himself to the police after arriving at the top court to meet Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar.
The CJP had ordered the immediate arrest of the alleged land grabber, however, the authorities had failed to fulfil the court’s orders.
Khokhar said that he had found out about the proceedings through the media, adding that he was a “law abiding citizen” who would never think of not appearing before the court.
He added that he feared “discrimination” on the hands of the investigative agencies and asked the court for protection.
Moreover, Khokhar claimed that he had never grabbed any land illegally. “I have not grabbed anyone’s land and have documentary evidence to prove that the land I own belongs to my father,” he said.
The suspect asserted that ‘false cases’ had been created against him after his son contested the election on a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
“I am being treated unfairly and want justice to be done,” Khokhar said, claiming that former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif filed bogus cases against him.
Khokhar and his sons, Faisal, Tariq and Asim, have also been accused of attacking an LDA team during an anti-encroachment operation in Johar Town area by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).
