ISLAMABAD – Minister for Climate Change Mushahidullah Khan on Sunday claimed that the four-day GT Road rally organised by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was bigger than any gathering even those staged by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
Talking to newsmen, the PML-N leader said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri could not fathom the participation of masses in the rally and were worried.
Khan also said that both PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif and Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani have emphasised on the need to have democracy in the country, adding that a democratic setup guarantees respect for all institutions, including army and judiciary.
Teh former premier Nawaz Sharif held a four-day “homecoming” rally from Islamabad to Lahore, in what was being dubbed as a “power show” after Nawaz was disqualified by a five-member bench of the supreme court for concealing his employment with Capital FZE.
The rally that started its journey from the capital on Wednesday ended in Lahore on Saturday with an explosive address by Nawaz Sharif in which he vowed to bring revolution in the country seeking support of his party workers.
