Indian forces had killed a pro-freedom fighter, Burhan Wani, in an encounter last month. The killing triggered a fresh wave of protests across Indian-held Kashmir and so far Indian forces have killed over 60 people leaving thousands of others wounded.

It may also be noted here that Pakistan has always condemned the terrorist attacks in India, including the January's Pathankot attack which, according to New Delhi, was planned by a Pakistan-based group.
