Detoxing or cleansing the body from the inside is equally as important as cleansing the physical body. If you don’t feel healthy inside, there’s no point in putting on layers of makeup and stepping out of the house feeling grim.
Some efforts on detoxing this Autumn/Winter have been known to keep people feeling much healthier, and they are easy to implement.
- Water:
We just can’t stress on this one enough! Water is an important anti-oxidant for the body, as well as a major help in preventing weight gain and keeping your body hydrated throughout the day. Fatigue relief and headache prevention are also some of the benefits of water.
2. Lemon Water:
Water mixed with mint or lemon is also good and refreshing for the body. Lemon is alkaline in nature and lemons are known to purify the liver.
3. Coconut Oil:
Coconut oil is known for speeding up metabolism, and is great in coffee, tea or a smoothie.
4. Fast for 12 hours:
Between dinner and lunch, have at least a 12 hour gap. Eating too late can cause leptin to signal to the brain that no energy is required, and thus no fat burning will occur until early morning hours if at all.
5. Sleep in a Blackout:
Benefits of sleep include regulating hormones, curbing appetite, lessening inflammation and stress, lowering depression, spurring creativity, and improving memory and overall outlook on life.
Most of us don’t realise these benefits but these are essential to a happier and healthier life. Deprivation of sleep lacks us to be more moody, gloomy and lethargic throughout the day. It may also affect relationships.
6. Dry Brushing:
Take a brush and dry-brush not just your hair, but your body when you wake up! Dry brushing is known to remove excess dry skin off your body, and this can also stimulate blood flow.
7. Heating things up:
Try sauna baths; they have been known to cause weight loss, sweating, muscle pain relief and an improved immune system and complexion.
