Islamabad police come up with special security plan for Chand Rat, Eidul Fitr

ISLAMABAD – Police in the federal capital have prepared a special plan to ensure foolproof security on the night before of Eid (Chand Raat) as per the directives of Inspector General of Police Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar.

Some 1700 police officials, 1000 personnel of Operations Division, 500 traffic policemen and 200 personnel of special branch will perform duties. They will be deployed at various markets and business centres. The traffic police had been directed to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The law enforcement officials will take strict action against the elements who will try to create law and order situation and against one wheeling.

Police will coordinate with the district administration to maintain law and order situation in the federal capital.

The Islamabad Capital Administration and the traffic police will ensure smooth flow of traffic during Eid days at Murree Road near Bara Kahu as in the next few days one million people are expected to cross the point.

As per plan, CDA will ensure removal of encroachments while police will ensure speedy exit of tourists from pickets.

Magistrates will ensure that no one creates any law and order situation.

Deputy Inspector General Police and Deputy Commissioner have conducted coordination meetings in this regard.

The police also sought cooperation of civil society and traders of Bara Kahu Bazaar to discourage illegal parking or encroachments on the main road.

The Islamabad Transport Authority is also negotiating with the public transport union to cooperate and take care of the tourists.

Rawalpindi administration will depute 300 personnel throughout the route to Murree and Galiat to facilitate the tourists.
