Imran Khan wishes free tickets for crowd sitting in enclosure named after him as PSL final nears

LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said he wished all tickets for enclosure named after him at the Gaddafi Stadium would be free for fans.

‘It is quite unfair to have tickets priced at Rs12,000 with cricket being played in Pakistan after such a long time’ he was quoted as saying.

The cricketer-turned politician termed the heavy price of tickets ‘injustice’ adding that the PSL tournament had been turned into an event for the ‘elite’, Dawn News reported.

Imran Khan’s demand to make tickets free for enclosure named after him came after he had strongly opposed holding the final encounter in Lahore.

He said Thursday that holding a cricket match in a curfew-like environment would have an adverse impact on the country’s image.

‘If any adverse incident occurs on the day of the final, it would prove to be the end of international cricket in Pakistan’ he had said.

Imran Khan himself would not be attending the final match scheduled to be held on Sunday. He was also lampooned after his comment suggesting holding PSL final in Lahore was ‘madness’.
