KARACHI – Police have arrested three terrorists allegedly belong to the banned outfit Islamic State (IS) also known as Daesh from the suburbs of the city.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar on Monday said that police raided a house in the Ahsanabad area following a tip off. As the police reached, the militants opened fire on the troops and in retaliation their guns went silent.
The police managed to arrest three suspects, while some others escaped from the scene. The search for the others is underway.
The raiding party also seized weapons and propaganda literature, including books, pamphlets and CDs recovered from the possession of the suspects, the SSP added.
The suspects have been identified as Muhammad Umer, Khalid Minhas and Shakeel Ahmed and were in Karachi to recruit young people for their militant group.
