LAHORE –  The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has confirmed that all international teams, including India, will be coming to Pakistan for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Naqvi assured that Pakistan is ready to provide a grand reception for all the visiting teams.

During a recent visit to inspect ongoing construction at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, Naqvi addressed media concerns about Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), becoming the ICC Chairman. He clarified that there is no issue, as he maintains regular contact with Shah and meets with him during Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meetings. Communication with the ICC and other member nations continues as usual.

Naqvi confirmed that despite concerns, all teams, including India, will participate in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan. He promised that the PCB will ensure an excellent hosting experience for every team.

Regarding the development of hotels in Lahore, Naqvi stated that the project has been delayed due to ongoing preparations for the Champions Trophy. The focus will shift to hotel construction after the tournament. Plans are also underway to build hotels in Karachi, and advertisements for these projects are being issued.

Naqvi expressed a desire for international companies to submit their designs to ensure the hotels are equipped with modern facilities. He also mentioned that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting will begin in Kuala Lumpur tomorrow. Although he will not attend the meeting in person due to prior commitments, he will participate virtually. Salman Nasir will represent Pakistan at the meeting. The agenda includes finalizing the PCB’s presidency of the ACC.

This announcement highlights the PCB’s commitment to promoting international cricket and enhancing the sport’s profile in Pakistan, much to the excitement of cricket fans across the country.
