Cabinet approves suspension of trade ties with India

ISLAMABAD – The federal Cabinet approved suspension of bilateral trade ties with India on Friday, ratifying the decision made by the top level National Security Council.

The decision was announced during a session of the federal Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan; during the session, the cabinet also gave approval for the new constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The regional system in the sport has been abolished in the new constitution after which provincial teams will participate in domestic cricket.

The board of governors of Pakistan Cricket Board would now comprise 11 members.

The National Security Committee had decided to downgrade ties with India besides suspension of trade after New Delhi repealed special status of Kashmir.
