Accountability court adjourns fake bank accounts case hearing till May 21

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur on Thursday appeared before an accountability court in Islamabad in the fake bank accounts case.

A heavy contingent of security personnel were deployed around the court to avoid any untoward incident.

PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari sent an application to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) investigation team and mentioned that he was scheduled to appear before the accountability court, therefore he could not show up in the bureau.

Earlier on May 8, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted him pre-arrest bail till May 15 in the case related to the illegal award of contracts to private firms.

Meanwhile, Accountability Court Islamabad has adjourned the hearing of fake bank accounts case till 21st of this month.
