ICC World T20 2016 trophy to reach Pakistan today

LAHORE (Staff Report) –  The ICC World T20 2016 trophy will arrive in Pakistan on Sunday where it will be exhibited in Lahore, Peshawar and Karachi.

The trophy will reach Lahore on Sunday where it will be presented to public at historic Minar-e-Pakistan. Later the trophy will be carried to APS Peshawar, the school where 144 children were massacred on December 16, 2014.

On January 12, the ICC trophy will be exhibited at the mausoleum of founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi, from where it will leave for Bangladesh.

After Bangladesh the trophy will reach Sri Lanka, the defending T20 champion, on January 17.

The trophy began its global journey to visit 12 major cricketing countries on December 12 last year and will reach New Delhi on February 1, 2016 just two days ahead of beginning of the mega event.

The final game of the mega T20 event will be played on April 3, 2016 in Kolkata’s Eden Garden stadium.
