DIKHAN – Additional and Session Judge Osman Wali Khan Thursday awarded 25-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed Rs 1 million fine to 70-year old Faiz Mohammad in the murder case of sister-in-law.
The court found the accused guilty of killing sister-in-law Karmoon Bibi over a domestic issue in 1994 who escaped from the scene after committing the crime.
The son of late Karmoon Bibi lodged FIR against the accused who was his real uncle as well as a father-in-law.
Accused Faiz Mohammad was declared absconder in a murder case. He managed to remain untraced for 22 years and finally arrested by district police in 2016.
The court in the light of statements recorded by eight witnesses awarded 25-year rigorous imprisonment to the accused while imposed Rs 1 million fine, in case of non-payment of fine he would remain in jail for six more months.
