KARACHI (Web Desk) – Authorities in Balochistan’s Machh jail said Monday that arrangements have been finalized to hang death row prisoner Saulat Mirza tomorrow (Tuesday), local media reported.
Officials said the convict had a last meeting with his family members today in the jail.
He will be hanged at 4:30 am on May 12, jail authorities told media.
On Friday, Sindh High Court (SHC) rejected an application of Mirza’s wife seeking deferment of her husband’s execution. The court upheld Supreme Court’s past decision on Mirza’s hanging.
Saulat Mirza, a former worker of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was awarded death sentence for 1997 murder of MD of Karachi Electric Supply Corporation – now K-Electric – Shahid Hamid, his driver, and security guard.
