No extension in filing income tax returns deadline: FBR

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the deadline for taxpayers to submit income tax returns for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024.

According to the FBR, the last date for filing income tax returns is September 30, and no extension will be granted.

The statement mentioned that so far, around 1.425 million people have submitted their income tax returns for the fiscal year 2024.

The statement further said that individuals with an annual income of more than Rs600,000 are required to file tax returns. Homeowners, property owners, and vehicle owners are also obligated to file income tax returns.

Businesspersons with income exceeding the specified limit are also required to submit their tax returns.

FBR officials warned that non-filers may face disconnection of mobile phone SIMs, electricity, or gas connections. Legal action will be taken against those who fail to submit returns despite receiving notices, and bank accounts of non-filers may be frozen after warnings.
