LAHORE (Staff Report) – Punjab Finance Minister Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha has said that the province’s 2016-17 budget is in the final stages of formulation and that new opportunities and avenues would be ensured in the budget.
In an interview, she said that additional funds would be provided for the education and health sectors. She said special focus is being given to the development of far-flung and backward areas of the province as well.
The minister said deserving people would be provided with interest-free loans to start businesses.
Replying to a question, she said that some funds would also be allocated for the completion of ongoing schemes in next year’s development programme.
