ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said the party is investigating the number of PTI votes ‘thrown out’ of the NA-122 by-election.
The party chief, emphasising on the number of votes thrown out of NA-122 at the last minute, said the party will approach the Election Commission of Pakistan once the investigation is complete.
“We are investigating the number of PTI votes thrown out of NA122 at the last minute & will then approach the ECP”, he tweeted on Monday morning.
In a series of tweets, Imran Khan also congratulated Shoaib Siddiqui for defeating PML-N’s Mohsin Latif in PP-147 constituency and said that this was a moral victory for PTI.
“Congratulations go to Aleem Khan for an epic fight against Punjab and Fed govts; and to Shoaib Siddiqui for winning PP 147,” he wrote on his official twitter account.
Earlier, Abdul Aleem Khan of PTI contesting in NA-122 said: “This is our main concern. We wrote to the election commission this morning. Our committee will sit and review evidence from the 2013 general elections and today’s by-election.”
According to unofficial results, PML-N candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq bagged 76204 votes while PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan got 72043 votes in total 284 polling stations.

PTI candidate Shoaib Siddiqui received 31993 votes while PML-N’s Mohsin Latif bagged 28641 votes in total 117 polling station.

The PPP contestant in NA-122, Amir Hasan, could manage 1683 votes only. The ECP has confiscated his surety bond submitted for the by-polls.
As many as 20 candidates participated in the run for NA-122 by-election however the main contest remained between PML-N candidate Ayaz Sadiq and PTI candidate Abdul Aleem Khan.
