CAPE TOWN (Web Desk) – South Africa eclipsed Australia by 31 runs in the fifth and final one-day international at Newlands on Wednesday to complete a historic 5-0 whitewash over the tourists.
Batting first in the final show down, the South African side set a 327 for eight with Rilee Rossouw contributing 122 to the total.
Aussies failed to chase the target and took to pavilion after getting bowled out on 296 although the opener David Warner thrashed the opponents bagging 173.
With the final victory, South Africa has become the first country to whitewash Australia in One Day Internationals (ODI).
The sides will clash again next month when South Africa visit Australia for three tests starting on Nov. 3 including a day/night game in Adelaide.
