Stallions Beat Lions By 133 Runs In Champions One Day Cup

FAISALABAD – The Stallions defeated Lions by 133 runs in the second match of the Champions One-Day Cup at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, on Friday.

Chasing a target of 337, the Lions collapsed to 203 all out, with Imam-ul-Haq standing out as the only resistance, scoring a gritty 78 off 83 balls.

Batting first, the Stallions set a daunting total of 336 runs, powered by impressive contributions from Babar Azam, Tayyab Tahir, Mohammad Haris, and Hussain Talat.

Shan Masood and Yasir Khan gave the Stallions a solid start with a 35-run partnership before Yasir was dismissed for 13. Babar Azam then came in and, along with Tayyab Tahir, both scoring 74, took charge with an explosive stand.

Mohammad Haris and Hussain Talat added fifties to the total, with Jahandad Khan remaining unbeaten on 20, helping their team post a massive target.

In response, the Lions stumbled early with opener Sajjad Ali Hashim out for a duck. Abdullah Shafique and Omair bin Yousuf also failed to contribute significantly. Sharoon Siraj added 28, while Aamer Yamin scored 22, but it wasn’t enough.

Haris Rauf took key wickets, including skipper Shaheen Afridi and Sirajuddin, ensuring the Stallions’ convincing win.
