ISLAMABAD – The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) rolled out digital training to benefit youth by providing flexible, engaging learning opportunities that enhance skills like digital literacy and problem-solving.
The provincial government took major step towards boosting digital expertise and economic growth with the launch of several new initiatives led by the Khyber KP IT Board.
KP Digital Internship Program
Thenew Digital Internship Program offers 200 internship positions for fresh graduates. These internships, based in IT companies located in Peshawar, Abbottabad, and other regions to provide hands-on experience and enhance job readiness in the tech industry.
A new online platform, Join IT, has been introduced to connect skilled professionals with IT companies seeking technical expertise. This portal will facilitate job placements by aligning local talent with industry needs.
Google Partnership for Digital Skills
In joint venture with Google and Tech Valley, KP IT department is offering scholarships to 5,000 young individuals from country’s northwestern region.
These scholarships will enable recipients to gain certifications in high-demand digital skills, bridging the gap between traditional education and current job market requirements.
CM Gandapur welcomed 2024 startup cohort at Durshal, KPITB’s flagship business incubation center. This group of 20 startups, representing districts such as Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, continues Durshal’s tradition of nurturing entrepreneurial ventures. To date, Durshal has supported 173 startups, creating over 1,600 jobs and generating PKR 751 million in revenue.
A new batch of fellows has joined the Government Innovation Fellowship Program. These fellows will collaborate with government departments to tackle challenges and develop digital solutions aimed at improving public sector efficiency.
These initiatives reflect a strategic effort to advance digital skills, promote innovation, and create job opportunities, marking a significant development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economic and technological landscape.
