ICC fines Stuart Broad after questioning decision on Twitter

LONDON (Web Desk) – English pacer Stuart Broad has been fined by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after posting a tweet questioning the first-innings dismissal of team-mate Alex Hales during the fourth Test.

Stuart Broad faced the music after he replied to Daily Mirror cricket correspondent Dean Wilson who tweeted:

“THAT IS OUT – Hales (6) clips Amir to Yasir at mid-wkt who takes a low catch diving forward. Replays are unclear but umps say out 23-1.”

Stuart Broad replied to Dean Wilson raising question over the decision for which he was hit with 20% of his match fee – around £2,000.

Broad replied to the tweet as:

Broad’s reply violated the ICC’s code of conduct relating to “public criticism of, or inappropriate comment in relation to an incident occurring in an international match”.

Alex Hales also faced a 15% fine reportedly due to his argument with the third umpire after his dismissal.
