Imran Khan demands speedy merger of FATA into KP to combat terrorism

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday called for early merger of federally-administered tribal areas (FATA) into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) to effectively weed out the terrorism.

Talking to media at Hayatabad Medical Complex just after a suicide blast in Peshawar that killed at least two people, Khan condemned the attack, adding that security situation in KP was poor.

As new terror wave is heading, all law enforcement agencies and public will have to struggle against the terrorism by joining hands.

“If we want take full benefit from Zarb-e-Azb and National Action Plan, there is need to speed up the process of FATA’s merger into KP,” he highlighted.

He suggested that local government system should be introduced in FATA to lay the foundation for the development of the region.
