ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed Local Bodies elections in Sanghar and Badin districts, scheduled for December 17, 2015.
The Election Commission of Pakistan took the decision on Wednesday during a meeting held at its Islamabad headquarters to review security arrangements for the polls.
Earlier, LB polls was cancelled on November 14 after a bloody clash between two rival groups in Khairpur district the hometown of Sindh chief minister had left around 12 dead in first phase of LB polls.
The instable situation in Badin and Sanghar districts, where there is tension between the Pakistan Peoples Party candidates and their rivals belonging to Zulfiqar Mirza and Pir Pagara groups, is the main reason behind these uncertainties.
A notification has been issued in this regard.
