LONDON – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister Imran Khan has not been included in race for the Oxford University’s chancellorship.
The prestigious university has issued the list of candidates vying for the post. The position of Chancellor at Oxford University is traditional and symbolic, and prominent figures are participating in this selection.
Among the candidates are former UK prime minister Boris Johnson, renowned British architect Sir Norman Foster, and well-known barrister Peter Craig.
Recently, PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari had revealed in an interview that lobbying firms have been engaged to support Imran Khan’s campaign for the Chancellor position at Oxford.
He had also stated that no one should be upset about hiring lobbying firms, as he did not take any money from anyone for this purpose.
Meanwhile, a prominent legal firm, Matrix Chambers, expressed its opinion that Imran Khan does not meet the university’s criteria for eligibility for the Chancellor position, local media reported.
