Imran Khan Claims Constitutional Amendment Aimed At Keeping Him In Prison

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan has stated that the purpose of the constitutional amendment is solely to keep him in prison.

In an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Imran Khan said that the government wants to create a constitutional court because they are afraid of the Supreme Court.

He added that the new amendments will destroy the country’s future and that the sole aim of the constitutional amendment is to keep him imprisoned.

Imran Khan further stated that the rulers have decided to ruin the judiciary, and all of this is being done to cover up election fraud.

He remarked that the government is afraid because if free elections are held, everything will be reversed. He asserted, “They think we will remain silent against this, but we will protest strongly.”

It is noteworthy that despite several days of efforts by government delegations, negotiations and political maneuvers have failed, and the constitutional amendments have been postponed indefinitely.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif also acknowledged last night that Maulana Fazlur Rehman did not support the government in the constitutional amendments.
