BARCELONA – At least six people were injured on Friday in a second terrorist attack in Spain just eight hours after a van ran over a tourists in central Barcelona killing some 13 people, besides leaving scores injured.
An Audi A3 car struck into pedestrians in Cambrils, around 120 kilometres south of Barcelona, leaving six injured, of which one is not in stable condition.
In retaliation, Spanish police killed the five attackers, some of whom were wearing explosive belts.
Police is currently investigating whether the dead terrorists have any link with Barcelona killings or not.
Islamic State (IS) group has claimed responsibility of the terrorist attack in Barcelona.
‘Barcelona Killings’
At least 13 people were killed and several injured after a terrorist in a van ploughed into pedestrians in a famous street packed with tourists and locals in central Barcelona.
The van zigzagged as it slammed into victims on tree-lined Las Ramblas promenade before the armed attacker ditched the vehicle and took hostages in a Turkish restaurant nearby.
Photos and videos posted online show bodies, some motionless, scattered on the floor and victims being helped at Placa de Catalunya.
A video shows a stampede as terrified witnesses flee through the streets after the vehicle slammed into people on the street which is highly popular with tourists.
Thursday’s attack drew condemnation from across the globe.
US President Donald Trump condemned the “terror attack” and said the United States “will do whatever is necessary to help”, adding: “Be tough & strong, we love you!”
