ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday chaired a top level meeting to review overall security situation of country.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister’s Special Advisor Tariq Fatemi, DG ISI Lt-General Rizwan Akhter and other senior officials of the government attended the meeting.
According to a statement, matters related to external and internal security were discussed during the meeting. The participants of the meeting strongly condemned the blast that targeted government officials in Peshawar on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed progress on the ongoing military operation. It was noted with satisfaction that the operation has made significant gains. The participants reaffirmed their firm resolve to root out the scourge of terrorism and extremism from the country.
