LAHORE – Leading political parties on Sunday hold rallies in different parts of the country to show off their public strength.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will hold a power show today in Sangla Hill where party supremo Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam will address party workers.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also address a rally in Rawalpindi’s Kotli Sattian area. The PPP leader is addressing party workers in light of the party’s ongoing membership campaign.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan is due to arrive in Karachi today on a two-day visit.
According to a schedule released by the party, Khan will arrive in the city at around 12pm. On the first day, he has been scheduled to visit an eye hospital in Clifton and address ‘Meet the Press’ at Karachi Press Club at around 2pm.
Khan will later visit the party camps in different areas, including Malir, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Landhi, Maripur, Banaras, North Karachi and Gulshan-e-Iqbal from 4pm till late night.
The camps, where Khan is scheduled to address his supporters, will be set up in connection with PTI’s membership campaign underway in different cities.
On Monday, the PTI chief will meet members of the city’s business community, and preside over a meeting of party leaders in Karachi.
In Karachi, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) ‘PIB and Bahudarabad’ groups will celebrate the party’s founding day separately.
MQM-P Bahadurabad group has made arrangements for the event in Nishtar Park while MQM-P PIB group led by Dr Farooq Sattar will hold the gathering at the Liaquatabad Flyover.
