LAHORE – Punjab government announced providing relief of up to Rs14per unit to consumers using up to 500 units of electricity but relief implementation was for consumers with single-phase meters only.
Reports in local media quoting Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) officials said the relief has only been granted to single-phase meter users, leaving three-phase meter consumers without any benefit.
LESCO representatives said while the Chief Minister’s decision to provide relief was meant to cover all users, the ministry only directed that relief be applied to single-phase meters.
The latest bills for three-phase meter users were issued without promised Rs14 rupee per unit relief, leaving a big number of people in distress.
Frustrated consumers have been visiting LESCO offices daily for clarity and assistance regarding the relief, but to no avail.
