LAHORE — The government of Punjab is taking stern measures ahead of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024, which is scheduled to be held on September 22.

To rule out any cheating scandal, the provincial authorities enforced Section 144 across twelve cities in the region. The order restricts the movement of outsiders within 100 yards of exam centers to ensure a smooth and secure testing environment.

Section 144 restrictions will apply to Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, and Rahim Yar Khan. Only candidates and authorized supervisory staff will be permitted to enter the examination centers.

Furthermore, mobile phones, digital gadgets, and any books or guides will be strictly banned while protests will not be allowed near the exam centers.

Enforcing Section 144 during exams aims to end cheating and maintain order. Clear communication about the reasons for these measures, along with monitoring through CCTV, helps ensure MDCAT transparency.
