ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexei Overchuk, concluded his official visit to Pakistan and departed on Thursday.
He was seen off at Islamabad airport by Additional Foreign Secretary (Europe) Shafqat Ali Khan and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali.
During his visit, Overchuk, accompanied by a high-level delegation, engaged in discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and also met with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and others.
On Wednesday, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange and St Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange.
Additionally, Pakistan joined the MoU on the Creation and Development of the International Transport Corridor, linking Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif welcomes Russian deputy PM, bilateral relations set to deepen
