Pakistan forces repulse terrorist attack on Gwadar Port Authority complex

QUETTA – Security forces on Wednesday repulsed a terrorist attack on Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) complex, killing all the eight assailants in retaliation.

Reports said the banned outfit BLA had planned the attack, which was successfully thwarted by the forces.

The terrorists attempted to enter the GPA complex but they were neutralised before they caused any damages.

Earlier in the day, reports said gunshots and blasts were heard near the complex. Security forces responded surrounded the building soon after the attack and engaged in gunfight with the militants.

Balochistan Chief Minister in a statement confirmed the attack, saying eight terrorists tried to attack the Gwadar Port Authority complex today.

“All of them have been neutralised by security forces. The message is loud & clear. Whosoever chooses to use violence will see no mercy from the state,” he wrote in a social media message.

He also appreciated all law enforcement officials who fought bravely for Pakistan.
