The much-awaited MTV Video Music Awards to be staged in LA

The MTV Video Music Awards is one of the world’s as well as one of the year’s most jaw-dropping, sizzling and headline-grabbing events, with the biggest names in the Hollywood entertainment industry casting their names to the forefront and bagging the spotlight. Well, this time the famous Awards show is returning to the big stage of Los Angeles.

It was announced Thursday that the gala will be broadcasted live on August 27 from the Forum arena in Inglewood, which stands adjacent to Los Angeles.

The VMAs have time and again alternated between New York and Los Angeles, with Miami and Las Vegas also being host cities in the past. Last year the Awards show took place at New York’s Madison Square Garden. Though the VMAs have been called in since their initiation for the recognition of top music videos, they have now in recent times become more of a namesake for a big television party with celebrity antics desperate to trigger conversations and rumor.

Amongst past memorable VMA incidents were Beyonce showing off her baby bump, Lady Gaga appearing in a dress made of meat and Madonna locking lips with Britney Spears.

The VMAs final shift to Los Angeles comes amid reports of the Grammy’s holding its 60th edition next year in New York. Jesse Ignjatovic has once again been tapped by MTV as the executive producer of the Video Music Awards who has ever since 2007 been toiling his blood, sweat and tears into sparking the usual chronic buzz demanded at shows of such caliber.
