MOGADISHU (Web Desk) – According to International media, several gunmen attacked the Beach View hotel from the ocean, shooting people on the beach, while the hotel was hit by explosions.
The attack began just after sunset at Lido Beach when witnesses reportedly heard two explosions followed by outbursts of gunfire. The explosions were reported to be car bombs, which targeted a popular restaurant at the beach in an area where diners often sit outside.
There were no immediate reports of casualties. Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack in a phone call to Al Jazeera. The spokesman also said the attack was ongoing
