CAA withdraws compulsory baggage wrapping order

ISLAMABAD – The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has withdrawn the policy which made it compulsory for passengers to get their luggage wrapped with plastic sheet.

The decision came after thee authority faced flak on social media, as well as by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader, Jahangir Tareen.

Earlier, CAA had ordered all passengers to have their checked baggage shrink-wrapped at a cost of Rs50, drawing scorn from globetrotters and environmentalists who are wary of plastic pollution.
