PM Nawaz leaves for UN assembly session

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday left for New York to attend 70th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Radio Pakistan reported on Tuesday.

He will address the UN General Assembly on Sept. 30 and highlight Pakistan’s stance on global issues including the need for resolution of Kashmir issue.

On the sidelines, Nawaz Sharif will attend global leaders meeting on gender equality and women empowerment organized by China and UN women, officials said.

He will also address the plenary meeting of General Assembly for the adoption of post-2015 Development Agenda.

Prime Minister Sharif will also attend receptions to be hosted separately by the UN Secretary General and the US President in honor of heads of states.

The Prime Minister will attend a peace summit co-hosted by Pakistan, United States and the UN Secretary General.
