Pakistan thrash India to win Asian Team Snooker Championship

KARACHI – Pakistan’s Babar Masih showing sterling performance in Snooker frames beat Indian in the final of the Asian Team Snooker Championship on Friday.

Babar maintained his performance throughout the tournament held in Doha, helping Pakistan to clinch the title with 3-2 ratio. However, former champion Mohammad Asif could not perform with a struggle to pocket balls.

Babar Masih won the first frame of the final 110-2 after playing a break of 81 and left Indian rival Pankaj Advani with an option to pocket red only twice.

In the second which is played between Malkeet Singh and Mohammad Asif, the former defeated Pakistani player 81-47 to level the final 1-1.

The third frame was played between Pakistani pair – Babar and Aisf – and India players. The Pakistani duo won the frame 72-70 after a neck-to-neck competition.

However, India’s Pankaj bagged the four frame with a break of 68 against Asif to again level the final 2-2.

Babar and Malkeet faced off in the final frame in which Pakistani player showed outclass performance by winning it by 98-18, clinching the title for Pakistan.
