Minorities enjoy equal rights in Pakistan, says Fawad

ISLAMABAD – Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights, the Radio Pakistan reported.

Responding to Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s tweet regarding alleged abduction of two Hindu girls from Sindh, he said it is an internal matter of Pakistan.

The Information Minister said it is not Modi’s India where minorities are subjugated, rather it is Imran Khan’s Naya Pakistan where the white colour of our flag is equally dearer to us.

He expressed the hope that the Indian government will act with the same diligence when it comes to the rights of minorities in their country.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan, taking notice of the alleged abduction of two Hindu girls directed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to immediately investigate into the matter of reported abduction of two Hindu girls from Sindh and their shifting to Rahim Yar Khan.

Two Hindu sisters were allegedly abducted from Hafiz Salman village near Deharki on the eve of Holi.

According to their parents, the girls have been forced to convert to Islam.

The girls’ father and brother, in videos circulating on social media, say that the two sisters were abducted and forced into changing their religion. However, a separate video of the minor girls is also making the rounds, in which they say that they accepted Islam of their own free will.
