PM Nawaz to meet Chinese President on September 28

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on September 28 on the sidelines of United Nations General Assembly session in New York.

According to a statement both country heads will discuss bilateral ties in the meeting. They are also expected to review the progress made in ongoing developmental projects in Pakistan including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

It is also pertinent to be mentioned here that this would be the first ever meeting of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with any country head during the current UNGA session.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif may also hold meetings with several other country heads however there has been no official announcement yet.

Earlier Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Pakistan on a historic tour to inaugurate the landmark project CPEC that will link China to Arabian Sea via a network of roads passing through all major parts of Pakistan. The project is expected to boost trading ties between both countries and other regional partners.
