SAHIWAL: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the first unit of the Sahiwal Coal Power Project having capacity 660 megawatt on Thursday.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif made the announcement during a meeting with a Chinese delegation in Lahore on Wednesday.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Chinese team members working on the power project in Sahiwal were also part of the delegation.
Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to the Chinese team over the completion of the project ahead of the time frame.
The delegation informed the chief minister that a second unit with the same capacity will start power production shortly at the Sahiwal Coal Plant.
