Emmy Award winning TV director Peter Baldwin dies at 86

PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA –  Peter Baldwin, known for ‘The Wonder Years’ passed away on Pebble Beach, California on November 19. He was 86.

Peter Waldwin’s death was announced on the Facebook pages of his daughter Eleonora Baldwin and his son Drew Baldwin, CEO of Tubefilter and creator of the Streamy Awards.

Peter DuBois Baldwin was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Winnetka, Illinois. Peter started his career from Paramount Pictures. He also worked as an assistant director to the legendary Vittorio De Sica on ‘Woman Times Seven (1967)’ and ‘A Place for Lovers (1968)’, also co-written by him.

Peter appeared in films such as ‘Stalag 17’ and TV shows including ‘Perry Mason’ and ‘The Untouchables’, He made a name in the directing field Baldwin made his name as a TV director in Hollywood with ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’.

Mr Baldwin won the Emmy award in 1989 for directing an episode of ‘The Wonder Years’ with being nominated again after two years for the same show. he is also known for the  1972 episode of ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’.
