LAHORE – Punjab government has approved the recruitment of 7,354 College Teaching Interns (CTIs) across the country’s most populated region.
Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz approved the project and directed to ensure transparent recruitment of CTIs in government colleges. The cabinet also approved amendments to the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess Act 2015 and delegated leave and pension authority to district health and education CEOs.
The appointments for government analyst, provincial drug inspector, and Punjab caretaker ombudsman were also approved.
CM further emphasized urgent need to establish Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA) to combat artificial inflation and hoarding, stating that structural reforms are being introduced across all sectors.
The cabinet announced several key initiatives, including a special allowance for police in the Katcha area and a Rs500 million Endowment Fund for Writers’ Welfare.
They established a special court for persons with disabilities and conditionally approved delegating sub-registrar powers to tehsildars and naib tehsildars. Chief Minister Nawaz directed the Board of Revenue to create a five-year housing policy and approved the inclusion of Lahore Knowledge Park under the Punjab Central Business District Development Authority.
New members were appointed to the Gujranwala Development Authority, along with a vice chairman for WASA, Gujranwala. Other approvals involved changes to the government land exchange policy and reallocating funds for upgrading tertiary care hospitals.
