RAZMAK, NORTH WAZIRISTAN – Pakistani security forces have gunned down eight militants in the country’s northwestern region Waziristan, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.

A statement issued by ISPR said targeted intelligence-based operation was conducted on night of September 25-26, 2024, when security forces engaged in fierce fight with militants in the Razmak area.

Eight armed militants were reportedly involved in terrorist activities, including attacks on security personnel and the targeted killings of civilians.

During the operation, security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the deceased militants, underscoring the ongoing threat posed by these groups. The operation is part of a broader strategy to combat terrorism and restore peace in the region.

Security forces conducted thorough sanitization of the area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure the safety of local communities. Officials reiterated their commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring stability in the region.
