Interior minister Ch Nisar lauds Rangers for bringing peace in Karachi

KARACHI – Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan appreciated the role played by Sindh rangers to bring peace in the metropolis.

Addressing the 24th Rangers passing out parade in Karachi on Saturday, he expressed that the government had assigned a difficult task to Rangers three years ago but the para-military force created history by rendering tremendous sacrifices.

The interior minister noted that there was a time when the whole provincial capital came to a halt at a leader’s call.

“Today you (Rangers) have forced the extortionists, thieves and criminals to flee.” he said.

Nisar also showed displeasure over the policing powers of Sindh rangers and emphasised that the issue should not be steered politically.

Nisar stated that Sindh Rangers carried out 3500 operations and arrested 7000 suspected criminals, which were handed over to the police.

‘If Karachi is peaceful, then the whole of Pakistan will be peaceful,’ Nisar said.
