WASHINGTON – Two people were killed and at least four others were injured in a shooting incident at the University of North Carolina’s Charlotte campus in the United States on Tuesday.
The two deceased were pronounced dead at the scene, said the authorities. Three of the injured are in a critical condition.

The assailant, 22-year-old Trystan Andrew Terrell, is in custody and the campus is on lockdown. according to local media reports. The police didn’t say if there were any other suspects.
The university tweeted earlier that shots were reported near its Kennedy Building.
“Run, Hide, Fight. Secure yourself immediately,” the university’s Emergency Management tweeted.

A concert was scheduled to be held at the university’s football stadium Tuesday night.
Scheduled activities such as examinations, will be cancelled till Sunday, university chancellor Philip Dubois announced, according to NPR.
The campus has more than 26,500 students, as well as 3,000 faculty and staff, according to the Associated Press.
“We are in shock to learn of an active shooter situation on the campus of UNC Charlotte,” Charlotte’s mayor Vi Lyles said on Twitter.
