QUETTA – At least four policemen lost their lives while nearly a dozen others were injured following a bomb blast near a police mobile on Monday evening.
The incident occurred at a market area near a mosque in the southwestern city’s Satellite Town neighbourhood, local media reported while quoting rescue sources.
According to initial reports, the explosion occurred when faithful were offering Traveeh prayers, especially held in the holy month of Ramazan.
All the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Two vehicles parked outside the mosque were also damaged in the explosion.
Police, FC and other law enforcement forces arrived at the scene, cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Jam Kamal Khan has strongly condemned the terror attack.
In a condemnation message, he instructed the doctors to provide all possible medical facilities to the injured people.
The CM also instructed the Inspector General Balochistan Police to further beef up security measures.
