NOTTINGHAM – Pakistan brushed aside England by 14 runs in a high-octane clash at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Monday.
Green Shirts set a massive 349 runs target against England in its second World Cup game with Hafeez scoring 84 runs off 62 balls while Babar contributing 66 off 63 balls. Moreover, Skipper Sarfaraz scored 55 runs as Pakistan lost 8 wickets in its innings.
On the other hand, Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali took 3 wickets while Mark Wood sent two Pakistani players to pavilion.
In reply, England fell short of 14 runs to clinch the target in 50 overs; it lost 9 wickets in its innings. Muhammad Aamir took two wickets while Wahab Riaz sent two rivals to pavilion on two consecutive deliveries; Wahab took three wickets in total.
Soon after the victory, Prime Minister Imran Khan lavished praise on the team and advised the playing XI to believe in themselves.

In the match 6 of ICC World Cup 2019, Eoin Morgan’s England will face Pakistan at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. England started their World Cup 2019 campaign with a 104-run victory over Faf du Plessis-led South Africa at the Oval.
The hosts will next look to get the better of an inconsistent Pakistan side who surrendered before West Indies in their opening match, losing 11th straight ODI, including a recent 4-0 series defeat by England.
So far, England does not face much challenge in fixing the playing 11 as almost all the players are in fine form. Pakistan may make some changes as their batting collapsed in front of the fiery West Indies pace. But Pakistan have a long road to cover as their confidence must be shaken after the collapse against West Indies at the Oval due to bouncer barrage.

With England likely to play Liam Plunkett, Jofra Archer and potentially Mark Wood, there will be a good chance that a number of short balls at very decent pace will be heading their way.
Pakistan bowling coach Azher Mahmood has said that Pakistan team would come hard at English and could beat them.

Addressing a press conference ahead of Pakistan team’s match against England at the Trent Bridge on Sunday, he said Pakistan played close matches against England in the recently concluded series, adding Pakistan scored 1,370 runs while England posted 1,430 runs during the four ODI matches and it was a misnomer to say Pakistan team were underdogs.
To a query, the former all-rounder said whenever they lost, Pakistan team always came back stronger, adding the team lost first match in the Cricket World Cup 1992 while they failed against India in a Champions Trophy 2017 but the team bounced back on both occasion and lifted the trophies.
Overall, it’s a contest between England’s strong batting line-up and Pakistan’s aggresive pace battery.
